Vehicle structure
The vehicles body and frame will be inspected for security
and condition. The MOT inspector will examine the external
bodywork and under body/engine bay for signs of corrosion or
damage. Bodywork damage may cause a vehicle to fail it's mot if
there are sharp edges. Any corrosion will be inspected in
detail. The MOT inspector will use a small hammer like tool to
establish the severity of any corrosion or rust. You are not
allowed to have excessive corrosion within 12 inches of a
structural component of the vehicles frame.
